MC Alger secured their place in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League by beating ASN Nigelec 5-0 in the return leg at the Ali-la-Pointe Stadium on Saturday 12 September 2026.

The Algerian champions had been held to a goalless draw in the first leg in Niger, but produced a decisive display in front of their home supporters to settle the tie with five goals and none conceded.

Siriman Konate opened the scoring in the 18th minute, giving MC Alger the advantage before the break. ASN Nigelec were unable to respond after half-time as the hosts added four more goals.

Mossi doubled the lead in the 69th minute and completed his brace 14 minutes later. Bangoura struck in the 76th minute, while Boukholda added another two minutes afterwards to complete the 5-0 victory.

The result means MC Alger progress comfortably from the first preliminary round after the two sides had been separated by only a goalless draw in the opening match. Across the tie, the Algerian club scored five times without conceding.

Rangers International next

MC Alger will face Rangers International, the champions of Nigeria, in the second preliminary round.

The first leg is scheduled to take place in Abeokuta between 16 and 18 October, with the return match in Algiers set for between 23 and 25 October.
