Michael Carrick will remain as Manchester United head coach for the foreseeable future, with the club prepared to give him time to improve the team’s situation.

Journalist Ben Jacobs reported on social media that Carrick is not expected to leave his position in the immediate future. Manchester United’s training programme is continuing as normal.

Carrick will oversee preparations for Manchester United’s away Premier League fixture against Chelsea. The club expects the team to produce a strong response after their recent setbacks.

Manchester United are currently 16th in the English Premier League table.

The match between Chelsea and Manchester United will be played on Saturday, 31 October.
