Mikel Arteta is close to signing a new long-term contract with Arsenal, according to journalist Graham Bailey.
The Arsenal manager is understood to be willing to continue his work with the London club, despite interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.
Arteta reportedly made clear to Arsenal’s hierarchy during the summer that he had no intention of leaving the club. His current agreement runs until the summer of 2027, but negotiations are now believed to be progressing towards a longer-term deal.
The 44-year-old has been in charge of Arsenal since December 2019. Under his management, the London club became champions of England last season for the first time in 22 years.
