Nigeria’s Adidas Super Eagles kits set for January 2027 release

Nigeria’s new Adidas football jerseys are expected to go on sale in early January 2027, as the Super Eagles begin a new kit partnership after the end of the national teams’ 11-year association with Nike.

The agreement between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the German sportswear company, which has already been signed, will take effect in January 2027. It covers Nigeria’s senior men’s and women’s teams, as well as the country’s youth sides.

The deal is worth $8.5 million per year, making it one of the most valuable kit sponsorship agreements in African football.

Adidas will provide the NFF with $4.5 million annually in cash, alongside $4 million worth of playing kits, training equipment and other sportswear for Nigeria’s national teams.

The agreement also includes a 20 per cent royalty for the NFF on qualifying sales of official Adidas merchandise, offering the federation an additional source of income from the partnership.

Representatives of Adidas travelled to Lagos last month to complete work on the designs with senior NFF officials. Discussions also covered the timing of the official unveiling and other details connected with the launch.

Adidas returns after 11 years with Nike

The new contract brings to an end Nigeria’s relationship with Nike, which started in 2015 and lasted 11 years.

Former NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau revealed details of the agreement in Abuja in August 2026, describing it as the biggest kit sponsorship deal in African football.

The return of Adidas marks a significant commercial development for Nigerian football. The company previously supplied Nigeria’s national teams during notable periods in the country’s history, including the Super Eagles’ first appearance at the 1994 FIFA World Cup and their victory at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The new jerseys will be available to Nigerian supporters at home and abroad from early January 2027, before or around the time of the formal unveiling.

Attention will now turn to the final presentation of the kits, their retail prices and how they will be distributed to supporters in Nigeria and overseas.

However, neither the length of the Adidas sponsorship contract nor the official retail prices of the jerseys have been publicly disclosed.

The partnership will apply across Nigeria’s national-team structure, including the Super Eagles, Super Falcons and the country’s youth teams.
