Coach Dipreye Teibowei of Bayelsa United has been left distraught following his side's whitewash by hands of Lobi Stars on Sunday at the New Jos Stadium, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.
Teibowei whose team fell by three goals to nil courtesy of Kumaga Suur's double and a goal from Abbar Umar lamented about the centre referee on the match day.
“Even though Lobi Stars scored clean goals, the officiating has a lot of question marks, as one side was favoured above the other.
Right from the beginning even from the dressing room his reactions to us were like we are fighting.
“How can you say you want to improve the standard of the league and the referees are still officiating this way,” he asked.
The coach said the league would not get better if officiating did not improve.
“If we continue like this, our standard will never improve,” he stated.
Bayelsa United are two places from the bottom of group A after garnering four points in four matches after getting in a win, a draw and two loses.
They host fellow newly promoted side, Doma United at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenegoa on Wednesday.
