Pimienta denies disrespecting Iheanacho amid struggles

Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta has rejected claims that he has disrespected forward Kelechi Iheanacho, amid the Nigerian's struggles for regular playing time, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Former Nigeria international Finidi George had suggested that Iheanacho, who joined Sevilla on a free transfer last summer, had not been treated with respect by the club.

However, Pimienta has insisted that Iheanacho has not been disrespected, saying: "We have not disrespected Iheanacho at any time. He has played less than I expected, but that's not a sign of disrespect."

Iheanacho, 27, has failed to score in nine league appearances for Sevilla, and Pimienta acknowledged that the striker may have options elsewhere in European football.

"If he stays, there will be no problem," Pimienta added. "I think he will have offers, and he will decide."
