PSG tracking Ligue 1’s emerging African talent ahead of 2027 transfer window

Paris Saint-Germain are already planning for the future and have identified several young Ligue 1 players as potential targets ahead of the summer 2027 transfer window, according to PSGInside-Actus.

The club’s recruitment department is continuing to monitor the French top flight, with particular attention on emerging African talent. The players reportedly being followed include Ismaelo Ganiou, Mahamadou Nagida, Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal, Samir El Mourabet and Paris Brunner. Toulouse FC goalkeeper Guillaume Restes is also on the club’s list of players to watch.

PSG are not waiting for the transfer market to open before assessing their next options. Scouts are expected to attend several upcoming league matches to evaluate players who could develop under Luis Enrique and eventually become part of the first-team project.

The approach reflects the club’s recent focus on high-potential young players, a strategy represented by Desire Doue and Warren Zaire-Emery.

Ganiou and Nagida among defensive targets

RC Lens defender Ismaelo Ganiou is understood to have attracted PSG’s interest previously, with the club reportedly attempting to position themselves for a move during the last summer transfer window.

The defender fits the profile of a player Paris could develop gradually, while anticipating future needs in the centre of defence.

Mahamadou Nagida is another name said to have impressed PSG’s scouts. The Cameroon international plays at left-back for Stade Rennais and is considered one of the more attractive prospects under consideration.

However, PSG may face competition for his signature. Inter Milan and FC Porto are also reported to be monitoring Nagida, according to Africafoot.

Stade Rennais defender Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal is also being watched. The Morocco international is part of the club’s wider assessment of young defenders who could establish themselves at the highest level over the long term.

No transfer for either Ganiou or Ait Boudlal has been announced, with PSG’s interest currently limited to monitoring and evaluation.

El Mourabet and Brunner also being assessed

At RC Strasbourg, Morocco midfielder Samir El Mourabet is another player reportedly under consideration. His technical ability, mobility and passing could appeal to Luis Enrique’s possession-based approach.

PSGInside-Actus reports that Luis Campos has taken a particular interest in El Mourabet. Paris could view him as a player capable of continuing his development before potentially joining the first-team squad.

The club are also keeping an eye on AS Monaco forward Paris Brunner. His attacking potential and progress are being assessed as PSG consider future options in the final third.

Whether that attention develops into formal action in a subsequent transfer window remains uncertain.

Guillaume Restes provides another possible option, particularly if the situation involving Lucas Chevalier changes. Goalkeeping is regarded as an area where clubs must plan several seasons ahead, although no concrete move for the Toulouse FC goalkeeper has been confirmed.

PSG’s current process is focused on identifying players early rather than making immediate commitments. Ligue 1 remains a key scouting market, and the coming weeks should provide a clearer indication of which names could progress beyond initial observation.
