Nigerian winger Christian Nwachukwu is reportedly close to moving to Sheffield United from Botev Plovdiv in Bulgaria ahead of the January window transfer deadline, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
He will join alongside a 22-year-old Peruvian forward for a combined transfer fee of approximately £2 million for the pair.
As per Sheffield Star, the two players were scheduled for medicals with Sheffield United following their identification through artificial intelligence scouting, a key component of the club's new ownership strategy.
Sources close to the situation indicate while both possess promising potential, they arrive with limited experience in English football and a basic understanding of the English language.
The 19-year-old Nigerian striker Christian Nwachukwu currently plays for Bulgarian First League team Botev Plovdiv while the 22-year-old Peruvian midfielder Jefferson Chávez plies his trade with F.B.C. Melgar.
