Richarlison’s Tottenham future remains uncertain after De Zerbi comments

Roberto De Zerbi has spoken about Richarlison’s future at Tottenham, with the Brazil forward’s proposed move to Trabzonspor still unresolved after the clubs failed to agree a transfer fee.

Richarlison, 29, has already agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor. However, negotiations between the Turkish club and Tottenham have stalled over the amount to be paid for the striker.

Tottenham have rejected two offers from Trabzonspor, worth £15m and £20m respectively. No agreement has yet been reached, leaving Richarlison’s next move uncertain.

The situation comes after Richarlison was not included in Tottenham’s squad for the current Premier League season. That decision has further underlined the uncertainty surrounding his position at the London club, although the transfer itself remains dependent on the two clubs finding common ground over the fee.

De Zerbi has now addressed the subject of Richarlison’s future. His comments come while Tottenham and Trabzonspor remain apart in their valuation of the player, despite the Brazilian having already settled the personal terms of a potential move.

For a transfer to be completed, Trabzonspor must still reach an agreement with Tottenham. The Turkish side’s offers of £15m and £20m have both been turned down, meaning the gap between the clubs has not been bridged.

Richarlison’s agreement with Trabzonspor indicates that the forward is prepared to join the club, but personal terms alone are not enough to complete the deal. Tottenham’s rejection of the two bids means the transfer remains at the negotiation stage.

The absence of Richarlison from Tottenham’s Premier League squad for this season adds to the importance of the talks. Until the clubs agree a fee, however, his future cannot be settled.

De Zerbi’s statement therefore comes at a time when the player’s immediate plans remain unclear. Richarlison has a possible destination in Trabzonspor and has agreed terms with the Turkish club, but Tottenham have yet to accept an offer for his transfer.

The £20m proposal is currently the highest bid mentioned in the negotiations, but it has not been sufficient to secure Tottenham’s approval. With the £15m offer also rejected, Trabzonspor would need to improve its proposal or continue discussions with the London club.

For now, Richarlison remains at the centre of an unresolved transfer situation. His personal agreement with Trabzonspor, Tottenham’s decision not to include him in their Premier League squad and De Zerbi’s comments have all drawn attention to his future, but there is still no completed deal between the clubs.
