SL Benfica to test KRC Genk's resolve with official bid for Tolu Arokodare

Portuguese giant SL Benfica has fast-tracked their interest in KRC Genk talisman Tolu Arokodare as they are reportedly prepared to send in their official bid to the Belgium club who are currently chasing the Belgian Pro League Championship, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

With few days left to the close of the January transfer window, Benfica is actively preparing an offer for the 24-year-old striker. While Transfermarkt values the player at nine million euros, Genk's director of football, Dimitri De Condé, anticipates a transfer fee of at least double that amount.

Head coach Thorsten Finck is deeply concerned about the potential departure of the attacker, drawing parallels to the previous loss of Paul Onachu. However, major news outlets suggest that Benfica may face significant challenges in completing the transfer within the desired timeframe.

Selling Tolu would be a significant blow to Genk, who are currently at the top of the Jupiler Pro League table.
