Sporting Lagos have officially sealed promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League after a determined campaign, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Lagos-based side confirmed their return to the top flight with a crucial victory, as Alex Leme emerged the hero by scoring the decisive goal in the 17th minute to cap a successful season under head coach Jeffrey Butler.

Sporting Lagos finished top of Conference B with an impressive 36 points from 18 matches, underlining their consistency and dominance throughout the campaign.

Closest challengers Akwa United also secured a 2-1 win over Solution FC, with goals from Aniebiet Sunday and Michael Okenwa, but ultimately had to settle for second place.

Solution FC managed to pull one back late on, though it proved insufficient to alter the final standings.

Sporting Lagos now joins Inter Lagos and Doma United among the clubs that have already secured promotion, completing a strong return to the elite division after a two-year absence.
