Bayer Leverkusen forward Nathan Tella is hoping to earn a recall to the Nigeria national team, the Super Eagles, after a string of impressive performances, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Tella, 25, has not featured for Nigeria since making his debut in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe in 2023.
However, his recent form for Leverkusen, including a goal in the 2-0 UEFA Champions League win over Sparta Prague, has put him back in the spotlight.
Tella is keen to impress new Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle and earn a chance to represent Nigeria again.
"It's not for me to say," Tella told Oma Sports. "I've never been a player that says 'I should be called up'. On merit, I have to work hard and earn my chances.
"If the new coach thinks I've done enough, then I'd happily accept the call. But, if not, that means I have to work harder."
