Rivers Angels coach Tosan Blankson has already shifted focus to their upcoming Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) clash after securing a 2-1 victory over South-South rivals Delta Queens, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.
The win, which came in a hard-fought Matchday 4 encounter at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, saw the Jewels of Rivers maintain their dominance over Delta Queens.
Blankson praised his team's performance, stating, “I told you before the match that Delta Queens couldn't withstand us, and it played out that way.”
Captain Taiwo Afolabi, who previously played for Delta Queens, also shared her excitement at claiming the three points against her former side and expressed confidence as she looked ahead to their next encounter.
Rivers Angels will now turn their attention to their Matchweek 5 encounter against Bayelsa Queens, which will take place at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on February 12th.
