Micky van de Ven says Tottenham’s position after five Premier League matches is unacceptable after they suffered a 3-2 home defeat by Aston Villa.
The result leaves Tottenham without a win this season and with only two points from their opening five fixtures. They are 18th in the table, inside the relegation zone.
Van de Ven described the lack of victories at this stage of the campaign as an unacceptable situation for the London club.
Tottenham’s defeat came against an Aston Villa side who had also gone without a win in their first four league games.
The hosts did at least score their first goals of the 2026/27 Premier League season, with Conor Gallagher and Jan Paul van Hecke finding the net. Their efforts were not enough to prevent Aston Villa from claiming victory in Birmingham.
