Valencia CF extend David Otorbi’s contract after teenage winger makes first-team breakthrough

Valencia CF have extended David Otorbi’s contract until 30 June 2031 after activating an option in the young winger’s existing deal.

The Spanish club confirmed the decision on their official website, underlining their confidence in a player they regard as one of the most promising products of their academy.

Otorbi joined the Valencia CF academy at the age of 12 and has continued to progress into the first-team squad. He has made 14 official appearances for the senior side and is beginning to establish a more significant role in the club’s plans.

The 18-year-old recently reached another milestone when he scored his first senior goal for Valencia CF against Racing Santander on the eighth matchday of LaLiga.

His contract extension reflects the belief of the club’s directors that Otorbi has the potential to become an established player at the highest level. The winger already holds a place in Valencia CF’s history after becoming the youngest player to make an official appearance for the club in January 2024.

He was 16 years, two months and 19 days old when he made that debut.

The new agreement gives the Spanish winger of Nigerian origin the opportunity to continue his development at a club and in an environment he knows well. His progress has also been reflected in his estimated market value, which is listed by Transfermarkt at 3.5m euros.

Valencia CF’s next league fixture will be against Elche in the 11th round of the Spanish championship.
