Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has commended the referee for his officiating in Galatasaray’s heated goalless draw against Fenerbahce on Monday evening.
The highly anticipated Istanbul derby saw both teams battle intensely, but neither could break the deadlock in a match filled with tension and competitive play.
Osimhen Backs the Referee Amid Officiating Concerns
While Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk raised concerns about some of the officiating decisions, Osimhen offered a contrasting viewpoint, stating that the referee handled the match fairly.
"The referee officiated the game well. He was fair, and we have no complaints. He controlled the match properly," Osimhen said.
The Nigerian forward’s remarks stand in contrast to the post-match criticism from his coach and some Galatasaray supporters who felt key decisions did not go in their favor.
Looking Ahead
With the Super Lig title race intensifying, both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce will be eager to get back to winning ways in their upcoming fixtures as they continue their battle at the top of the table.
