Warren Bondo is expected to return to first-team training at AC Milan, but the midfielder remains outside the club’s sporting plans and appears increasingly likely to leave during the January transfer window.
Bondo is still under contract with the Rossoneri and is therefore entitled to take part in collective training sessions, despite having been left out of the squad. His return to the training ground does not signal a return to the first-team setup, nor does it guarantee any playing opportunities in the coming weeks.
The midfielder’s position remains unresolved as AC Milan and the player have been unable to agree terms to end their relationship.
Contract talks fail to produce agreement
In recent weeks, the Milan club reportedly proposed ending Bondo’s contract by mutual consent. Those discussions did not lead to an agreement, leaving the player contracted to AC Milan while still outside the manager’s sporting plans.
The lack of progress has encouraged both sides to seek another solution before the matter becomes more difficult to resolve. January is now viewed as a significant point in the player’s future, with either a transfer to another club or an agreement to bring his time in Milan to an end being considered.
Bondo’s representatives have made clear that a departure is the preferred outcome. Contacted by Maghreb-Foot, a senior source at FK Sport Management SRL, the company responsible for managing the player’s professional career, was categorical about his future at AC Milan.
Although the precise terms of a departure have yet to be settled, the comments leave little doubt that separation from the Italian club is now the leading possibility.
Italy remains a possible destination
A return to another Italian club is among the most credible options for Bondo. His representatives maintain contacts with several teams in Italy, which could help identify his next destination.
The Franco-Congolese midfielder is also familiar with Serie A and Italian football. Before joining AC Milan, he played for Monza and Reggina, and he spent last season at Cremonese on loan.
That experience may appeal to clubs seeking a midfielder who already understands the demands of the Italian championship.
For now, Bondo remains in an uncertain position at AC Milan. His return to training changes little in sporting terms, with the player still excluded from the club’s plans. His representatives are working to secure a move that would allow him to revive his career and play regularly elsewhere.
It remains to be seen whether the situation can be resolved before January or whether the parties will have to wait for the winter transfer window to open. According to the source cited by Maghreb-Foot, however, Bondo’s spell at AC Milan is close to ending.
AC Milan are due to face Atalanta in their seventh Serie A match. The published odds listed AC Milan at 1.76 to win, with a draw at 3.90 and an Atalanta victory at 4.25.
