Soumaila Coulibaly has left Strasbourg to join Watford on loan, with the English club holding an option to buy the 22-year-old central defender at the end of the arrangement.
The move was completed in the final stages of the summer transfer window, giving Coulibaly a fresh opportunity away from France after spending the 2025-2026 season on loan at Brest.
The former Parisian will now continue his career in the Championship, the second tier of English football, after officially committing to Watford. His switch to the Hornets represents a new chapter following his spell with Brest and his return to Strasbourg.
Coulibaly’s transfer has been structured as a loan deal that includes an option to purchase. That arrangement allows Watford to assess the defender during his time in England while retaining the possibility of making the move permanent.
